CSS is fantastic for creating layouts for web site designs. In the past, many web site developers used tables to create the layouts for any given site. However, with the emergence of CSS, layouts could be more versatile, faster to deploy, and easier to maintain and change over time.
When researching web site design companies, be sure to enquire as to whether or not they actually use CSS for layouts as well as textual formats... You'll be surprised that many company's are not using it to its full capacity which is a shame because it would actually reduce the costs of building and maintaining a web site. Furthermore, CSS is a key component to search engine optimization (SEO).
